okay so the kids had a great visit with family last week and Warren and I had a well deserved break, but of course we missed the kids like crazy, so we decided we would take off from work on Wednesday to do something fun with the kids during the week which they aren't use to since Mommy and daddy both work but we picked all of the boys up from their visit and headed to Aunt Brenda's to swim, the day started out great, mom came over to swim, Aunt Brenda was home and Jaylen was there to swim with Tristan, everyone was having a blast but soon it would all end with a trip to the er...oh no yes the big boys were doing back flips off the diving board and Braydon thought he could manage it too, but as we all motionless and speechlessly looked on we saw the disaster unfold in front of us, we couldn't even say anything it was to late, he gets to the edge and perfectly manages a back flip but as he came down his head hit the diving board, I could barely look on as Warren ran to get him out of the water, all I could see was blood and I freaked out, ran inside through my clothes on told the boys to get out and we headed to the er in Shelby, everyone else was convinced he was fine just a minor cut but when he threw up I knew we had to get there fast, as we signed in Warren and the other boys waited in the truck, they got us back pretty fast and the doctor came in to see us, he examined his head and off the top said he would have to have staples to close the wound, he wanted to watch him close for several hours to make sure a cat scan wasn't in order since they do not like to preform them on three year olds unless it is life threatening, Warren and the boys went on home while Braydon and I waited, for the doctors decision, they finally came in and said they believed everything was fine and it was time to staple him...I was freaking out at first but it wasn't as bad as I had pictured, the nurse came in and numbed his head, I tried to keep him occupied while the did the rest, we said our numbers and sung our ABC's before we knew it, it was all over with and he didn't even realize it, so Warren was there to get us after having a neighbor sit with the other boys and we were headed home with 2 staples in the top of Braydon's head..don't worry he is back to his old self and the staples come out in 10 days, but to close I have always had the fear of someone hitting their head on that diving board and after about 10 years my theory was proven true, so my kids will not be enjoying that feature of the pool anymore...end of discussion!! lol
